BIO 175 - Microbiology Credits: 4 3 Lecture Hours 3 Lab Hours Prerequisites: BIO 110 or BIO 151 This course is a study of the form, function and environment of microorganisms with emphasis on those which are pathogenic. Topics include epidemiology, immunology, genetics and control of microbes. Microbiological techniques such as principles of asepsis, identification of microorganisms, microscopic observation of specimens, staining procedures and cultivation of microbes are included.
