GGY 202 - Historical Geology Credits: 3 2 Lecture Hours 2 Lab Hours This is a course for both science and non-science majors on the evolution of the earth and its crust. Principal topics include geologic time concepts, stratigraphic principles and paleontology. Pleistocene glaciation and the rise of the human species, a geologic history of the Pittsburgh area and current concepts of continental drift, plate tectonics and sea floor spreading will be examined.
