BIO 207 - Genetics Credits: 4 3 Lecture Hours 3 Lab Hours Prerequisites: BIO 151 This is a course which introduces the principles involved in the transmission of inherited characteristics, as revealed by classical and modern investigations. Special concepts include the chromosome theory, cytogenetics and genetic imbalance, mechanisms and significance of DNA mutation and DNA repair, Mendelian and multifactorial inheritance, the chemical structure of genes, applied molecular genetics, gene expression and regulation of gene action.
