CST 103 - Inventory Mgmt for Central Service Credits: 3 3 Lecture Hours Co-requisites: SUR 110 or Employed Central Service Technician
This course is a central service certification preparatory course. The student will be introduced to the expanding roles of the Central Service Technician as it relates to all areas of the institution. This course will include an introduction to the anatomical systems and medical terminology as they relate to hospital equipment. Theory will include basic anatomy and the corresponding equipment, inventory management and distribution, risk management, reusable verses disposable products, inventory control, purchasing, off-site warehousing and regulatory agencies. There will be a review of all aspects of central service including sterilization, disinfection, packaging, instrumentation, human relationship skills and teamwork. This course requires a per credit health career fee; check the tuition and fee schedule for the current rate.
