MAT 147 - College Trigonometry

Prerequisites: MAT 108 or Equivalent
Description
A course for students majoring in mathematics, science, or engineering. Topics include trigonometric functions, identities, equations, multiple and half angle formulas, graphs, oblique triangles, inverse trigonometric functions and complex numbers.
Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, the student will:
- Define the six fundamental trigonometric functions from both the unit circle point of view and the right triangle approach.
- Produce graphs of the six trigonometric functions.
- Solve right triangles.
- Prove trigonometric identities.
- Solve trigonometric equations.
- Solve triangle problems using the Law of Sines and Law of Cosines.
- Apply DeMoivre’s Theorem.
