WLD 180 - Ironworker Welding 1.1 Credits: 1 1 Lecture Hours
Description This course is designed to introduce the apprentice ironworker to electric arc welding and oxygen-fuel flame cutting. Emphasis will be placed upon safety procedures and proper equipment set up and usage. Some basic arc welding and torch cutting will be performed. Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of the course, the student will:
- Cite the safety hazards associated with arc welding and torch cutting.
- Hook up and use arc welding equipment and a torch cutting outfit using appropriate safety measures.
- Relate the basic theory principles involved in arc welding and torch cutting.
- Describe fiber line and its application.
