Description
This is a course which provides a conceptual and technical presentation of cardiopulmonary anatomy and physiology for students in specific health programs.
Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, the student will:
- Describe structure and function of cardiovascular and respiratory systems.
- Summarize the components and functions of blood and the immune system.
- Explain the principles of homeostasis as applied to body fluids, electrolytes and acid base balance.
- List clinical symptoms of selected cardiovascular and respiratory diseases.
- Determine appropriate treatment and therapeutic goals for specific cardiovascular and respiratory diseases.
