ENG 102 - English Composition 2

Description
This is a course that further develops skills in formal research-based and argumentative writing and emphasizes the use of multi-disciplinary sources.


Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, the student will:

  1. Use Standard Written English to create well-structured sentences, paragraphs and essays.
  2. Review the writing process and use strategies to further revising and editing skills.
  3. Write extensive multi-paragraph essays using argument and a variety of structural patterns considering audience and tone.
  4. Write logically, critically and analytically, synthesizing and documenting sources.
  5. Read critically, learning to summarize, analyze, interpret and evaluate relevant information from a variety of print and electronic sources, as well as from direct observation, interviews and surveys.
  6. Make distinctions about the credibility, reliability, consistency, strengths and limitations of resources but not limited to information gathered from Web sites.
