HIS 205 - African-American History 2 Credits: 3 3 Lecture Hours A study of the African-American experience in the United States, after emancipation. Topics covered include: a brief review of African-American history pre-1865, the historical development of Western racism, the development of African-American identity, the development of Black urban ghettoes and African-American contributions. Also covered: Black flight to the west and northern United States, the end of reconstruction, the development of Civil Rights, and the Black Power movements.
