ITP 105 - Introduction to Interpreting Credits: 3 3 Lecture Hours This course provides students with an overview of the sign language interpreting field. The history and development of sign language interpreting will be explored, along with trends and issues in the field. Various service models of interpreting will be discussed. Laws governing the provision of interpreting services in the state of Pennsylvania will be addressed, along with issues pertaining to qualifications and certifications. Observations for this course will require students to have approved PA clearances.
