ECT 201 - Adv Electrical Construction Tech 1 Credits: 8 4 Lecture Hours 4 Lab Hours Prerequisites: ECT 151 This course involves solving complex problems through Kirchhoff’s Laws and Thevenin and Norton’s theorems. Design, construction, operating characteristics and application of electrical devices such as the semiconductor and zener diode are also presented. Building on previously discussed National Electrical Code (NEC) topics, grounding is discussed in its entirety, along with residential and commercial blueprint reading, with an emphasis on commercial blueprint reading. Information on the characteristics of AC/DC motors and their control devices is also presented. A separate laboratory experience will provide the student with opportunities to apply and work with concepts learned in the classroom setting.
