RTT 213 - Radiation Therapy Technology 2 Credits: 3 3 Lecture Hours
Prerequisites: RTT 203 , RTT 204C Co-requisites: RTT 214C
Description This course is designed to present advanced concepts in radiation therapy technology, extensive time will be spent on radiation therapy dosimetry concepts. This course requires a per credit health career fee; check the tuition and fee schedule for the current rate. Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of the course, the student will:
- Perform advanced hand dosimetry and dose calculations.
- Recognize and identify computer treatment planning techniques for external beam and brachytherapy.
- Differentiate between photon and electron beam treatment techniques.
- Differentiate between external beams and implant radiotherapy planning.
- Demonstrate understanding of advanced treatment planning concepts by body system.
- Apply radiation safety and quality assurance standards to patient treatment planning.
- Examine the purpose and function of record and verify electronic charting systems.
- Develop multiple treatment plans using standard case study approach.
