Certificate
The Global Studies certificate is designed to develop intercultural awareness and the critical skills to understand global political, social and economic trends. It would be a suitable accompaniment to a wide variety of majors and an enhancement to the credentials of those transferring to a four-year institution. The program is multidisciplinary and flexible, with an appealing aspect of student self-design.
Upon successful completion of the program, the graduate will:
- Explain the relational nature of global processes and their impact on local circumstances.
- Appraise events within a global scheme of historical evolution.
- Describe the impact of globalization on different cultural societies and develop ability to appreciate cultural differences.
- Display basic communicative competence in at least one foreign language.
