 NOTICE TO OUT-OF-STATE STUDENTS

For out-of-state students:  Colleges offering online programs to out-of-state students are bound by State Authorization regulations from the states in which those students reside.  CCAC is committed to meeting any and all requirements necessary for legal operation of online programs within those states or in states where CCAC does not meet State Authorization requirements, CCAC does not offer programs to those students. Because of State Authorizations, CCAC is not able to offer degree or certificate programs to students residing in Alabama, Arkansas, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Oregon, Wisconsin, or Wyoming.  Instruction, as well as any communication between faculty and students, takes place exclusively online and via email. As a result, CCAC has no established physical presence for its online programs in other states.

The Student Academic Complaint Procedure is documented in the Student Handbook on page 18.  Students residing in other states while enrolled in a course offered by the Community College of Allegheny County are expected to utilize the institution’s internal complaint or review policies and procedures prior to filing a complaint with the state agency or agencies. However, if the complaint is not resolved through these processes, a student may use the following link of office(s) in the state in which the student resides to submit a complaint against any public institution in Pennsylvania: PA Department of Education Student Complaints.

Professional licensure and/or certification requirements may vary from state to state.  There may be a need for additional education requirements and/or special authorization from the professional licensing/certification agency in that state.  CCAC cannot guarantee program requirements meet the licensure/certification requirements in states other than Pennsylvania.

Out-of-state students seeking to enroll in a CCAC course or program that customarily leads to professional licensure/certification, should first contact the professional licensing/certification agency in their state of residence to determine whether or not the CCAC course or program meets the requirements in that state.
