This 1,275 hour program prepares and trains students in the theory and practice of professional barbering. Content includes didactic instruction and practical experience necessary to prepare students to sit for the Pennsylvania State Board of Barber Examiners licensing exam and for immediate employment in the barbering profession.
Upon successful completion of the program, the graduate will:
- Perform barber skills such as cut and styling hair, performing scalp treatments, coloring and chemically enhancing hair and shaving faces.
- Maintain tools of the trade.
- Employ safety and sanitation measures in accordance with Pennsylvania rules and regulations.
- Develop a plan for successful, ethical and professional business practices as a barber.
