The professional certificate in Basic Computer Aided Design (CAD) is a fast track program designed for the student seeking a career in computer-aided design. Graduates may find employment as CAD operators, drafting technicians or engineering aides in technical professions that utilize computer generated engineering drawings and models.
Graduates can also use the credits earned in the certificate program to transfer into existing two-year Associate’s degree programs in Civil Engineering Technology, Computer Aided Design, Engineering Technology, Engineering Science and Mechatronics Technology.
Upon successful completion of the program, the graduate will:
- Produce engineering drawings, following established technical specifications.
- Prepare routine drafting projects derived from layouts and sketches.
- Create working two-dimensional and three-dimensional CAD drawings for engineering applications.
- Construct, edit and annotate feature-based parametric models.
